MISSION STATEMENT
P.E and Sport are key to a broad and balanced curriculum. They introduce children to a healthy lifestyle and can sow the seeds of a lifelong involvement in sports. They promote teamwork, fair-play, co-operation and competitiveness. They bring schools and communities together and are part of the rich fabric of our culture.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM Abroad and balanced programme is taught by a large and experienced staff. Accessible and inclusive to everyone, including those with special needs. A variety of outdoor and indoor games reflect the ethos of the school and community. Physical Education is compulsory.
Valuable contributions are made to the acquisitions of physical skills and knowledge; personal and social development; environment and community awareness.The health of the students, contributing to an active lifestyle (meeting the need to combat inactivity and obesity)
OUTLINE OF KEY STAGE 3 PROGRAMME All Key Stage 3 pupils take part in a series of 6 week blocks of activities which include:

OUTLINE OF KEY STAGE 4 ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME All Key Stage 3 pupils take part in a series of 6 week blocks of activities which include:
ACADEMIC P.E. PROGRAMME There is a GCSE Physical Education examination which is available to suitably able and interested pupils. The content is made up of both theoretical and practical modules. In addition to this, a planned BTEC First Diploma in Sport is to be made available for the academic year 2005–2006.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Christian Brothers' School accommodates a range of extra-curricular activities from within the Physical Education Department. These activities include Gaelic Football—Ulster Colleges Competitions; Hurling—Ulster Colleges Competitions; Soccer—NI and Belfast Schools Competitions; Basketball Club; Ski and Snow boarding "Making Fresh Tracks" Club and a Handball Club. There is also a CBS Youth Sports after school programme. This offers quality coaching to local primary schools; provides quality
resources and equipment; contributes to health, personal and social development and encourages participation in after-school sports which include:
